Sara L. Mattson, Au.D., CCC-A, FAAA
Dr. Sara Mattson is fully licensed by the state of California and certified by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association to provide comprehensive audiological services. Dr. Mattson earned both her Bachelor of Arts degree in Communicative Disorders and her Master of Arts degree in Audiology at San Diego State University. She was awarded her Doctorate in Audiology by the University of Florida.
Her prior clinical, academic, and research experiences at Shohet Ear Associates Medical Group, Inc. and the University of California, San Diego provided an in depth and diverse background in all aspects of audiology. Sara is a compassionate hearing healthcare provider that enjoys helping a patient obtain a better quality of life through a patient-centered approach. Her special interests are:
– Treatment and Diagnosis of Hearing and Balance Disorders
– Pediatric and Adult Aural Habilitation/Rehabilitation through the use of Advanced Technology
– Cochlear Implants and other Implantable Hearing Devices
– Tinnitus and/or Hyperacusis Evaluation and Treatment
Dr. Mattson is an expert in the management of patients suffering from tinnitus and/or hyperacusis. She was trained by the world-famous Dr. Pawel Jastreboff on implementation of Tinnitus Retraining Therapy. She was one of the first Audiologists in the United States to be trained on the Neuromonics Tinnitus Therapy. Dr. Mattson has presented several lectures and seminars to both colleagues and tinnitus sufferers about tinnitus and tinnitus management.
Her other special roles include serving as adjunct faculty to San Diego State University and guest lecturer to University of California, San Diego. She works closely with the faculty of the Joint Doctoral Program in Audiology offered by the two aforementioned universities to facilitate the education and mentorship of up and coming Doctors of Audiology.
She is a member of the American Academy of Audiology (AAA), American Speech-Hearing-Language Association (ASHA), California Academy of Audiology (CAA), and American Tinnitus Association.
Meghann E. Greear, Au.D., CCC-A, FAAA
Dr. Meghann Greear (Kyle) is fully licensed by the state of California and certified by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association to provide comprehensive audiological services. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Physiology at the University of Arizona and was awarded her Doctorate of Audiology by Northwestern University.
Dr. Greear’s prior clinical, academic, and research experiences at Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary and Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston have equipped her with expertise in all aspects of pediatric and adult audiology. Meghann cares deeply about her patients and is a hearing healthcare provider who prioritizes the combination of precision testing, informed interpretation, and thoughtful strategy development toward workable hearing loss solutions that leverage aural rehabilitation and assistive devices.
She has special interests in:
– Treatment and Diagnosis of Hearing and Balance Disorders through the use of Advanced Technologies

– Hearing Aids
Dr. Greear has contributed to the understanding of societal and personally modifiable risk factors for hearing loss through research that has been published in the Journal of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery and presented nationally. She is a member of the American Academy of Audiology (AAA) and American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
Kristin L. Woods, Au.D., FAAA
Dr. Kristin Woods (aka Cowart) is fully licensed by the state of California to provide comprehensive audiological services. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology at Colorado State University (Cum Laude), and was awarded her Doctorate of Audiology by the joint doctoral program of University of California, San Diego and San Diego State University in 2007.
Dr. Woods’ prior clinical experiences at the Veteran’s Administration Hospital, San Diego, and in private practices with otolaryngologists in both northern and southern California, have equipped her with thorough knowledge in pediatric and adult audiology. She is also helping to educate the next generation of audiologists by supervising Audiology doctoral students at the San Diego State University Communications Clinic. Kristin has always been interested in helping others, and has found the field of audiology to be the perfect combination of science, technology, counseling and human services.
She has special interests in:
– Advanced diagnostics
– Auditory evoked potentials
– Hearing rehabilitation
Dr. Woods has previously contributed to original research in the field of audiology, and co-authored a publication in the International Journal of Audiology. She is a member of the American Academy of Audiology (AAA) and the California Academy of Audiology (CAA).
