Cornelius Jansen

Dr. Cornelius Jansen is board certified by the American Academy of Otolaryngology and a member of the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery. He graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in biochemistry from Brown University in 1979. He completed research at the Rhode Island Hospital, the National Institutes of Health and at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. He has published articles and received awards for publications in immunology, laryngeal cancer and hearing loss. Dr. Jansen has worked at the FDA on the Over the Counter Drug Review.

Dr. Jansen earned his Medical Degree from the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in 1983. He then went on to do two years of general surgery and four years of otolaryngology-head and neck surgery residency, which he completed in 1989.

His first job was with The Maui Medical Group where he served as personnel director and vice- president over the course of the next 10 years. He moved with his family to the San Francisco Bay Area and worked at Kaiser Walnut Creek in the Head and Neck Department for the next 20 years. Dr. Jansen moved to beautiful San Diego in 2019 where he enjoys swimming, paddle boarding, sailing, hiking and biking year-round.

In September 2019, Dr. Jansen travelled to an underserved area in the Philippines with a humanitarian Medical Mission.

He joined California Head and Neck Specialists in late 2019. Dr. Jansen has extensive experience in the medical and surgical treatment of diseases of the ear, nose and throat and is welcoming new patients.
